Pleasant Hill School collected over 550 items for the local food pantry this week. The class collecting the most items won a pizza party, thanks to the PTO. Kristie Ritchie's fourth grade class were the winners, collecting 81 items. We would like to thank everyone that sent in items for this worthy cause.

Title I and first grade teachers hosted a "Christmas Bingo" Wednesday, December 17 for all first grade students and parents. Students enjoyed an afternoon of sight word bingo, snacks, and a movie. Parents participated in a sight word make-and-take center and listened as the Parent Resource Center spoke about motivating children. Teachers would like to thank the parents for attending and the Parent Resource Center for their time.

Pleasant Hill's character for the month of December is caring. Mrs. Freed's first grade class showed to be "first class" citizens. Their class made Christmas favors to put on food trays at Minnie Hamilton. The cards were decorated with trees, candy canes and angels.

Maggie Bennett conducted a Parent Technology Workshop on Monday, December 15. Parents went over Odyssey, Harcourt Math, and Phonics Express. Parents also had the chance to look at the school website.

Fola Coal and the local chapter of the Red Hat Society donated coats for Pleasant Hill students. Approximately 20 students were given nice winter coats.

Pleasant Hill School will be having classroom Christmas parties, Monday, December 22.
