Susan Barnes and Bette Ritchie have nominated Loretta Stevens and Joann Shock as Shining Stars, "For their tireless effort to raise the money needed for the purchase of the new snowflake Christmas lights for Grantsville.
Last year Loretta recognized that new lights would enhance the 'Hometown Country Christmas' atmosphere of the town and with Joann's help began a year long endeavor of yard sales, bake sales and solicitation of businesses to raise over $5000.
The result is breathtaking! Because of their individual efforts for a cause that benefits every citizen in the county we feel that
Loretta and Joann deserve to be Shinning Stars."
Many people in Calhoun County and the area are community minded, generous and dedicated. The Hur Herald staff would like to recognize those individuals and groups for all they do.
