Ollie Offutt Jr., 77, of Parkersburg, passed away Dec. 9, 2008, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born at Millstone, W.Va., on July 30, 1931, a son of the late Ollie Offutt Sr. and Ruth (Garrett) Offutt.
Mr. Offutt retired with 40 years service at Hope Gas. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Masonic Lodges of Parkersburg and Grantsville.
Ollie was an active member of the Parkview United Methodist Church, where he served as chairman of the trustees and sang in the choir. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing. Ollie cherished his time with family and friends at the family farm in Calhoun County.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Ruby (Leach) Offutt; two daughters, Jane Ambrose of Parkersburg and Connie Russell and husband, Rick, of Parkersburg; son, Tim Offutt and his wife, Teri, of Washington; brother, Bernard Offutt of Sandyville; sister, Glennis Simmons of Canton, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Crystal Ambrose, Derick Russell, Brandon Offutt and Kristen Offutt.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Revs. Nolan Turner and Allen Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
