Tulsa Lavon Adams Persinger, 79, of Normantown, Gilmer County, West Virginia, passed away December 7, 2008 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
Born July 7, 1929 in Gilmer County, she was a daughter of the late Maron and Lucy Young Adams. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at Normantown.
Surviving are two sons, Gene (Della) Persinger of Buckhannon, WV and Clark (Martha) Persinger of Greenwood, Delaware; 3 daughters, Kay (David) Normant of Lexington, Kentucky, Margaret Persinger of Glenville, WV, and Brenda (Larry) Turner of Amma, WV; 1 sister, Melba Carroll of Bristol, WV; 3 brothers, Ira Adams of Kent, Ohio, Wayne Adams and Shirley Adams both of Utah; a half sister, Tressie Adams of Salem, WV; 10 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are dear friends, Duretha Mowery, Kenneth and Louise White.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Carey Persinger, and a son, Dana Persinger; and half brothers, Hayward Young and Ronnie Adams.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 10 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, WV. Elder Richard Westfall will officiate. Interment will be in the Rometsch Chapel Cemetery near Normantown.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
