RECESSION WATCH: SPENCER'S ARMACELL HAS 16 LAY-OFFS |
| (12/06/2008) |
| Layoffs continue in small manufacturing plants around West Virginia. Armacell, a manufacturing facility of foam rubber in Spencer, has laid off sixteen employees in the past few weeks. That's about 20% of the employee force. Plant manager Mike Hodges says it's due to the economy and a downturn in orders. Armacell's products are used in cars and household appliances. Hodges says if the business picks back up, those laid off will be eligible to come back. |
