Jack McCroskey, 67, of Spencer, West Virginia died November 19, 2008 at home after a long illness.
He was born November 5, 1941 in Roane County, West Virginia a son of the late Bill and Thelma Phillips McCroskey. He was an oil field worker for 30 years, employed by FWA Drilling Company and Clint Hurt & Associates. He was a member and trustee of the Mud Fork Community Church in Calhoun County, West Virginia and enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, and dirt track racing.
Jack is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Robin Kelley of Spencer; two sons, Tom McCroskey of Spencer and Jack Ray McCroskey of Calhoun County; one sister, Freeda Jo Taylor of Spencer; two brothers, Bill and Fred McCroskey; three grandsons; and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Dremia Arlene Adkins McCroskey and three brothers.
There will be no service or visitation. Jack will be buried Wednesday afternoon in the Adkins Cemetery, Big Pigeon, West Virginia.
Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, is handling arrangements for the McCroskey family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. West, Charleston WV 25302.
