Had a nice visit with Heather and the girls. While Heather was in the shower, Ruby said "cut my hair mom". I told her to get up in the chair. She sat well and looks like a little Betty Boop. She looks so cute. Lea was ten months old November 4. She has beautiful blue eyes. Ruby's are dark brown.

Blaine King visited and played dominoes with my friend and I. Blaine won both games. Alright! It was the first time we have played since Daddy's been gone. Blaine has a nice 410 pistol that was fun to shoot. I liked it.

I received an e-mail from The Old Farmer's Almanac they employ scientific disciplines to predict the weather. The following are all considered traditional signs of a severe winter ahead. Geese fly south at a high altitude, chipmunks are abundant. Lakes and rivers freeze later than usual. Squirrels are gathering a large supply of nuts. Woodpeckers appear early, corn husks are thicker and stronger.

St. Martins Day, November 11 is considered the beginning of Indian Summer, a period of warm weather following a cold spell or hard frost. Indian Summer can occur between St. Martin's Day and November 20. If we don't have a spell of fine weather during that time, there's no Indian Summer. Well we've had an Indian Summer here in the Upper West Fork and now on Monday the 17th it's cold with snow flurries.

There are lots of squirrels here across the creek. The chickens are looking great. The pigs are getting bigger as they are pinned up ready for slaughter.

Everyone have a wonderful week!
