Due to the overwhelming feedback I received via e-mail and comments from people I have talked to recently, I've decided to put up a website relating to helping people out with some 'fix it yourself' articles, for computer issues.
I started building the website and writing new articles for it, and while I was writing away and building the site, I thought that it would be pretty cool to add more functionality. But what? I asked a few people what they thought would be good ideas, and thought about it myself, and eventually found a few other 'missing things' on the web relating to Calhoun. So I figured I would just add them into the website as well.
I've spent a considerable amount of time creating the site with a lot of thought and a LOT of programming, and well, now it's ready.
On the new site, you can find all kinds of extra things, like:
Hourly updated - Local weather reports, 7 day forecasts and Live/Animated Weather maps.
Hourly updated News - World, USA, and many other types of Latest News (under 'Global News')
Local Job listings - where employers can submit job listings for free, and job hunters can respond to them.
Free Classified Ads - with several categories, (more to come with suggestions) A community garage sale of sorts, a place where you can post all your stuff, buy sell and trade all you like. Local Realty property listings welcome!
Free Software listings/downloads - A place to find all the good software that I recommend in my articles.
Do it yourself tutorials - From audio and video software tutorials, to simple instructions on getting your computer cleaned up and backed up, to squeezing out every bit of speed your computer can offer.
Community Support Forum - A place to ask questions and get answers, overall just to help each other out in the digital world, and share friendly conversation.
Local Business Index - A place to post your business online with a full page Ad, (categorized listings)
Links - to interesting and helpful websites and software.
And of course new articles all the time relating to the computer and electronics world in general.
I hope this website will help out a lot of people and businesses in different ways, and hope you find it useful.
This site is in it's infant stages, so if you find anything broken, please let me know and I'll get it fixed asap. Also if there is anything you would like to see on the site that is not there already, give me your suggestions.
