| Mary Cathern Wyatt, 53, of Laguna, California, passed away October 18, 2008, in Laguna after a courageous battle with cancer.
She most recently resided in Newton, Roane County, West Virginia, being the caregiver of Maysel Parsons of Newton, who passed away in June 2008.
Cathy was born November 25, 1954, in Roanoke, Virginia, to her parents, George "Johnny" Wyatt and Belle Simpson Wyatt. She was preceded in death by her mother, Belle Wyatt; and her grandparents, "Dutch" and Duluth Simpson.
Surviving are her father, Johnny Wyatt; maternal aunts and uncles, Sarah Turner, Dick and Juanita Webb, Jim and Ruth Simpson, and Virgil and June Parsons; and many cousins; as well as paternal aunt, Barbara Barnette; several paternal uncles and cousins; and a host of dear friends.
A special thanks goes to her special friend, Christine, and to Corrine and family in California.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 8, at Newton Baptist Church, Newton, with Pastor Darius Walker and the Rev. Ron Fisher officiating. The body has been cremated.
Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service and 30 minutes after the service at the church.
