| Clay "Blackie" Sturms, Jr. departed his earthly life November 1, 2008 at St.
Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg, WV.
He was born the son of Clay Sturms and Ruie Barnes Sturms.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Waneta Vannoy Sturms, one son, James
Sturms and his wife, Jeannie of Vienna, WV, 2 daughters Deloris Metz and Raymond
of Big Bend and Janet Cunningham and Roger of Grantsville. Also surviving
are 9 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 8
step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Sturms.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. at
Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Greg Swisher will officiate. Interment
will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Grantsville.
Visitation will be held Tuesday
evening from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial
donations be made to the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Dept. |
