| Edward L Roberts, 52, of Creston West Virginia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday October 22, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital, Parkersburg.
He was born March 13, 1956 in Wirt County, the son of Anna Florence Hardbarger Roberts of Elizabeth, WV and the Late Joseph Jean Roberts. He was a member of Spruce Hollow Community Church, of Big Bend, WV. He was a 1974 graduate of Wirt County High School. He was a devoted servant of the Lord and loving husband and father. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, Edward enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Brenda Wagoner Roberts; one son, Travis Martin of Creston; and one daughter Selena Roberts Rumer (Justin) of Morgantown WV; 3 brothers, Tommy Roberts (Ruth) of Elizabeth, Ronald "Ray" Roberts (Marsha) of Elizabeth, Billy Roberts (Pam) of Killeen Texas; 3 sisters, Patty Roberts of Elizabeth, Martha Murray of Tucker Creek WV, and Linda Miller (Robert) of Davisville WV; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Martha Valentine Hardbarger and his paternal grandparents, David and Nancy Mackey Roberts.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday October 25 at Spruce Hollow Community Church in Big Bend with Rev. Carrol McCauley officiating.
Interment will be in Wagoner Cemetery of Big Bend.
Visitation will be Friday October 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth, WV. |
