Glenville, WV - Four longtime members of the Glenville State College faculty and staff were among the West Virginia public employees who were honored at the Governor's Awards Ceremony in Charleston during Public Service Recognition Week. The ceremony took place in the Cultural Center at the Capitol Complex on Thursday, October 2nd, followed by a reception in the Upper Rotunda of the Capitol Building.

Almost seven hundred West Virginia public employees were recognized for service of thirty years or more to the State. "Without our outstanding public employees, West Virginia would be lost. It is their unwavering commitment and dedication, which allow the State to operate smoothly and with efficiency," said Governor Joe Manchin.

Debbie A. Nagy, GSC Director of Alumni Affairs and Special Assistant to the President, was honored for thirty-five years of service to the State.

Also recognized, but unable to attend the ceremony were: Glenville State College Professor Emeritus James J. Hinter, who retired in the fall of 2007 after thirty-five years of service, GSC Professor Emeritus Marty E. Garrett, who retired in the spring of 2008 after thirty years of service, and GSC Physical Plant Manager I Timothy Marks, who also has thirty years of service.

Nagy, Hinter, Garrett, and Marks also received Glenville State College Service Awards earlier this fall.
