Glenville, WV - Members of the Glenville State College Alpha Theta Xi sorority are conducting a Halloween food drive as a community service project.

All food donations will go to the Mountaineer Food Bank and the Gilmer County Community Resources Incorporated to be distributed to needy families. " At the present time, there is an increase in the number of families that need help, and that is resulting in a shortage in available food stocks. We hope that our food drive will help replenish the food bank," said Dr. Jill Haasch, GSC Assistant Professor of Psychology and Faculty Advisor of Alpha Theta Xi.

During the month of October, the group will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items such as: canned fruits and vegetables, soup, beans, peanut butter, mac-n-cheese, rice, instant potatoes, canned meat, canned milk, oatmeal, cereal, pancake mix, syrup, and any other non-perishable food. Personal items like shampoo, soap, razors, etc. will also be accepted.

Donations may be dropped off at Dr. Haasch's office in Louis Bennett Hall room 237, the Pioneer Village Office, or the Pickens Hall Lounge.

Members of Alpha Theta Xi will also be going door-to-door Trick-or-Treating for food donations in Glenville on Thursday, October 30th from 6-7:30 p.m.
