Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) will return to West Virginia's capital city on Friday to make the case for electing Democrat Anne Barth to Congress.
The former First Lady will stump for Barth at the University of
Charleston at 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
"Hillary Clinton is a role model to me and to so many women in
West Virginia," Anne Barth said.
"These are serious times, and facing these challenges as a state and as a nation will require serious, dedicated and effective public servants. These are among the qualities that Sen. Byrd and
so many West Virginians admire about Sen. Clinton, and I hope to follow her example in Washington."
Anne Barth's family is from Calhoun. She is the daughter of
retired Methodist minister, Rev. Bill and Nancy McDonald Street of Charleston.
Anne and her husband Nick, an attorney, are both graduates of West Virginia University, where their two daughters are currently enrolled.
Barth is seeking to replace four-term Rep. Shelley Moore Capito in
the 2nd Congressional District.
