KNIFE WIELDER STICKS TONGUE OUT - A Charleston man who stabbed another man after a robbery is headed to prison.
Jonathan Parker pleaded guilty yesterday to robbing and trying to kill Eugene Mills.
When Parker entered the courtroom, he stuck his tongue out and blew kisses to Mills.
Police say Parker robbed Mills, then stabbed him several times.
Mills was in the hospital for two weeks and is still going through rehabilitation.
Parker faces up to 40 years in prison.
NITRO MAN STABBED IN NECK - A Nitro man died of a stab wound in the neck after a scuffle in a Cross Lanes apartment.
Police said they found William Russell Barr, 22, lying in a parking lot.
Barr was rushed to Thomas Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
Barr reportedly forced his way into the apartment and encountered the person living there. A struggle began after the occupant of the apartment pulled a gun.
Barr was stabbed in the neck during the struggle and then left the apartment.
Deputies said Barr and the person who inflicted the wound were acquaintances.
7-11 ROBBERY - A man made off with more than $80 from the 7-11 on West Washington Street in Charleston, but the suspect didn't get too far.
Police say Phillip Gillenwater walked into the store around 4:00 a.m. and told the clerk he had a gun.
Gillenwater fled the scene, but soon after police spotted him walking just a few blocks away and made the arrest.
