Calhoun and Wirt authorities went on the hunt of a possible distressed person Saturday night, after On-Star reported a problem to the Wood-Wirt 911 Center.
On-Star is an emergency signal system that is activated when autos wreck or the driver signals for help.
The Wood-Wirt 911 Center contacted Calhoun 911, after which a satellite locater placed the vehicle in the Munday-Dutchman area in Wirt County.
Cpl. Jeff Hunt responded to the report, with Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville VFD.
The ambulance and VFD returned to the station after it was learned the owner was o.k.
The owner said he had advised On-Star that he was testing the system from his cabin, but apparently their dispatcher did not receive the information.
The comedy of errors ended, happily.
