The Calhoun County School Based Health Center (SBHC) a division of Minnie Hamilton Health System, wants you to know all the wonderful services they have to offer you and your family.
The SBHC was established at the Calhoun High School in 1995 and since that time has grown to four sites, Calhoun County Middle-High School, Pleasant Hill Elementary, Arnoldsburg Elementary and Gilmer County Junior-High School.
The SBHC is full-service and allows your child to stay in school and receive medical care. Staff at the SBHC include Lisa Coleman, FNP; Karen McBride, LPN; and Stacie Starcher, Coordinator. Services offered: Health care for illnesses, Physical examinations, Sports physicals, Immunizations and allergy shots, Lab tests, Vision and hearing screenings, Health education and prevention, Behavioral health referrals and Well Child Checks.
Dr. Lynn Gilbert, DDS and Dental Assistant Toni Cottrell provide dental work at the SBHC every other Tuesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Services offered are exams, cleaning, sealants, restorations, fillings and extractions.
Behavioral Health Counselor Helen Woodyard, Licensed Practical Counselor provides services at Calhoun County Middle-High School and Gilmer County Junior-High School. Services offered are behavioral health assessments, individual counseling, case management, referrals to school and community resources.
The SBHC is operating under new hours for the 2008-09 school year.
