December 10 will be the district governor's meeting for the Grantsville Lions
Club, in addition to Ladies Night.
The Lion's assisted with the annual Christmas Parade in Grantsville and gave
candy treats to kids (with Santa's help).
The town's Christmas lights have been erected with the help of Mike Smith
of the local telephone company. Lion members reported the town's lights will
need major repair or replacement by next Christmas.
Two donations were approved, $50 to the WV Lions Blind-Deaf Recreation
Fund and $100 to the Lion's leader-dog training program. An informative
program was presented by Jim Klages of the Windsor Heights Lions Club on
the leader dog training school in Michigan. He urged all Lions to encourage
visually impaired persons to apply.
Members present, Bob Bonar, Jim McCormick, Denzil Dye, Ray Lahaie,
Richard Kirby, Denver Taylor, Henry Cooper, Tom Gainer and Curtis
Gregory.
