Calhoun's Jake Krack recently joined the arts staff of the
West Virginia Division of Culture and History as the Individual
Artist Coordinator.
The nationally-known, award winning fiddle player has played with countless fiddlers in West Virginia, falling in love with the music of the mountains and its' great musical traditions.
Jake recently won the first place Old-time Fiddle Award and Performer of the Festival award at the 73rd Galax Fiddlers Convention 2008 in Galax, Virginia.
This is the third time Jake has won the award.
Jake attended Berea College in
Kentucky where he received a bachelor's degree in Appalachian
Studies.
