Earl Lee Fitzwater, 65, of Glenville, West Virginia passed away September 13, 2008, at his residence following a short illness.
Earl was born July 6, 1943, to the late Tolley Wriston Fitzwater and Nora Ethel Price Fitzwater. He was a prominent barber in Glenville for 45 years and was co-owner of the Hair Expo with his brother, Jim. He was a widely known storyteller and was also owner of Glenville Hardware Company. Earl was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, was secretary of Gilmer County Masonic Lodge #118 A.F. & A.M. at Glenville and was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge at Tanner.
Surviving are his wife, Jo Ellen Walton Fitzwater; daughter, Johana Lee McKitrick and her husband, Jason Robert McKitrick; son, Earl Reagan Fitzwater; grandson, Austin Gabriel McKitrick; two sisters, Josephine Hart and Johan Montgomery and her husband Leonard; six brothers, Shirley Benjamin Fitzwater and his wife Faye, Jimmie Landon Fitzwater and his wife Janice, Lambert W. Fitzwater and his wife Frances, Calvin Clark Fitzwater and his wife Carolyn Sue, Robert Orton Fitzwater and his wife Gayla, and Rodney Dean Fitzwater and his wife Regina; 33 nieces and nephews; and multiple great and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Gene Hickman.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Ronzel Roberts will officiate. Interment will be in Meadow Lane Cemetery at Glenville with Masonic Graveside Rites by Glenville Masonic Lodge #118. Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
