Marie Nicholas Taylor, 93, of Williamstown, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord September 13, 2008.
She was born in Orma, W.Va., in Calhoun County. She was a daughter of the late Simon A. Nicholas and Emma E. Cottrell Nicholas.
She was a member of Summitt Valley United Methodist Church and worked for The American Bisque Company where she served as union president for many years. She enjoyed sewing, canning, gardening, hunting and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Russell H. Taylor of Williamstown; three sons, Russell H. Taylor Jr. and wife, Roseann, of Williamstown, Roger L. Taylor and wife, Terry, of Waverly and Richard G. Taylor and wife, Virginia, of Williamstown; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Macil Monroe of Vienna, Murl Nash of Canton and Jean Hoytt of Georgia; and two brothers, Earnest "Norm" Nicholas of Spencer and Denver Nicholas of Orma.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Kenneth R., Jammie A. Sr. and infant Randy C. Taylor; and two sisters, Maxine Wilson and Delma Nicholas.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Ed Sprout officiating. Interment will follow at The Nicholas Cemetery in Calhoun County. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
