A Grantsville area man was arrested Monday for manufacturing marijuana, according to a criminal complaint filed in Calhoun magistrate court.
Christopher Keith Ferrell, 36, of Cabot Station, was released after posting a $2,500 bond on what was listed as a felony charge.
Ferrell's arrest, according to the complaint, appeared to be related to drug eradication being executed by the West Virginia State Police in Calhoun.
Sgt. Jeff Skidmore did not respond to a public information request regarding eradication efforts, with reports of a helicopter flying over the region, with the Grantsville State Police, the Grantsville Police Department and DNR officers reportedly participating in the exercise.
Ferrell's arrest, according to the complaint, happened while officers were executing a search warrant for 27 pot plants in close proximity to the accused's residence.
State Police say they discovered three pot plants outside Ferrell's rear door and 11 plants inside a grow room of his residence.
The complaint said officers found smoking devices, loose marijuana, marijuana seeds and several grow lights.
Ferrell is set to appear in court on September 11.
