A passerby discovered a Jeep in the creek at the mouth of Big Root this morning, near the intersection of State Rt. 5.
Emergency services responded to the incident at 9:20 a.m. today.
The 1982 CJ5 Jeep belonged to Pleasant Hill resident Brian Ritchie. It was stolen from Megan Oil and Gas on Back Fork Rd., Big Springs.
Ritchie said the vehicle was taken late Friday night, saying it appeared to have been pushed over an embankment into the creek.
He said it was likely totaled.
Ritchie is asking community members to call the State Police if they have any information regarding the incident.
The stolen vehicle is one of many property crimes that have occurred in the county recently.
