Harold R. Sands, 93, of Rosedale, Gilmer County, died Monday, December 3 in Clarksburg
following a brief illness.
Born in Gilmer County, he was a son of the late Nelson and Victoria Carroll Sands. He was a
member and Deacon of the Rosedale Baptist Church and was retired from the West Virginia
Department of Highways.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Vergie Sands and two daughters, Doris Shepherd of Ohio and
Marlene Linger of Jane Lew, WV; two sons, Carroll Sands of Buckhannon, WV and Bob Sands
of Florida; one sister, Virgie Moore of Ohio; fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren
and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Rosedale Baptist Church at Rosedale.
Elders Roger Stewart and Larry Fisher will officiate. Interment will be in the Rosedale Baptist
Church Cemetery. Friends may call at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, WV from 5 to 9 p.m.
