Violet Ruth Schoolcraft, 87, of Walton, West Virginia, died August 30, 2008 at Roane General Hospital, Spencer, WV.
She was born August 2, 1921 at Vicars in Roane County, a daughter of the late George Washington Jones and Bertha Gandee Jones. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Norma Gay Miller of Spencer and Marie Hunt of Leroy, WV; one sister, Mabel Hatcher of Ripley, WV; two granddaughters, Kimberly Thompson and Patricia Starcher; one grandson, Jesse Hunt; four great grandchildren, Travis Thompson, Erika Bragg, Alysia Thompson, and Trenton Madison Lanier; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ira M. Schoolcraft; a brother, Orville Jones; and two sisters, Roxie Scarbrough and Mae Jones.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 3 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer. Rev. Charles Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the Rocky Branch Cemetery near Walton.
Visiting hours are Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. |
