| Bernice B. Gainer Hardman, 81, of Grantsville, West Virginia departed this life August 25, 2008 at Ruby Memorial Hospital Morgantown, WV, after a short illness.
Mrs. Hardman was born at Joker, WV the daughter of the late Artie Mae Mahaney Gainer and Lonnie Gainer. She was a graduate of Calhoun County High School and worked for Burch Chevrolet as a bookkeeper for several years. She later worked as a medical receptionist for Dr. Benjamin J. Sol and other doctors in Grantsville. Mrs. Hardman was a Methodist by faith and a member of the Knotts Memorial United Methodist Church of Grantsville.
Surviving are her husband, James E. Hardman of Grantsville; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Richard Morris of Grantsville; granddaughter, Elizabeth and husband Chris O'Hara of Boulder, Colorado; grandson, Daniel and wife Amanda Morris of Grantsville; great grandsons, Levi Marshall Morris and James Richard O'Hara; sister, Martha Bail of Martinsburg, WV; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Orval White Yoke, Jr., and infant daughter, Nancy JoAnn Yoke, both in 1952; also sister, Freida L. Hosey and brother, William S. Gainer.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, August 28 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the services Thursday.
