| John Gilbert Arthur, 24, of Cairo, Ritchie County, West Virginia, died Friday, August 22, 2008 at his home.
He was born in Calhoun County, the son of Adam and Sheila Raider Jones of Big Springs, WV and Greg and Brenda Arthur of Elizabeth, WV.
John worked at Simonton Windows of Pennsboro and was a soldier in the US Marine Corps.
Surviving are his wife Misti Arthur and two step children, Schylar and Arial of Cairo. In addition to his parents he is also survived by a half sister, Ashley Arthur of Elizabeth; step sisters, Brittany Fredrick of Big Springs and Tiffany Jones of Grantsville, WV; a step brother, Andrew Jones of Big Springs; his grandparents, Izetta Sharon Smith of Grantsville, Tom and Dianna Raider of Annamoriah, WV and Joanne Francis of Elizabeth; his uncles, Richard Raider of Annamoriah, O.B. Smith (Malinda) of Moresville, NC; and Lucas Smith Grantsville.
Funeral services will be held 5 p.m. Friday, August 29 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Ken Heiney will officiate. Interment will be in the Sanders Cemetery at Big Springs.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
