The Calhoun Middle-High School cross country teams will hold a home invitational meet on September 23 starting at 4 p.m. and is seeking volunteers and sponsors.
According to CMHS cross country head coach Melinda Fitzwater the meet will be the teams big fund raiser for meet fees for the rest of the season.
Currently teams from Ritchie County, Charleston Catholic and Elkins have committed to run in the event.
The meet will need people to help by serving as course marshals, ushers and hospitality hosts.
The meet also needs a major sponsor to help with the costs of the medals, ribbons and trophies that will be given to participants.
Current plans call for first, second and third place team trophies for middle school girls, middle school boys, high school girls and high school boys. Individual trophies are planned for the overall winner in each class with ribbons and medals for the top 10 finishers and ribbons for 11-25.
To volunteer to help at the meet or to provide sponsorship help please contact Fitzwater at melindafitzwater@yahoo.com or assistant coach Gaylen Duskey at calhounrunners@citlink.net.
