"We appreciate any help that you can give for this event. Each family is asked to donate a cake and tomatoes for slicing. Please bring these to the park on Friday evening or before noon on Saturday. Also this year we would like your fresh baked fruit pies to sell throughout the day in our bake sale," said chairman David Weaver.
Weaver said "We need everyone's help in the preparation of the roast. All volunteers will be cheerfully welcomed."
Starting Friday morning at 4 a.m. the fire will be started and tended throughout the day. On Friday evening the meat will be wrapped and placed in the pit at 6 p.m.
Serving will start at 11 a.m. Saturday.
The Ox Roast needs exhibits for their "Country Fair." Items should be brought to the park on Friday evening or before 10 a.m. Saturday.
Items that can be exhibited are, fruit, vegetables, canned goods, baked goods, and any craft items or woodcraft.
After judging, red and white ribbon-winning items will be priced and sold throughout the day. Blue ribbon items will be auctioned starting at 5 p.m.
In addition to the above request, Ox Roast organizers would appreciate any additional baked goods that we might sell throughout the day (cookies, cakes, fruit pies, bread, etc.)
Weaver said "The park and facilities are maintained by volunteer efforts. All proceeds are used for the maintenance and improvements."
