A popular side event at the 11th annual bluegrass event at Chloe over the weekend was the greased pig contest, with a number of young folks in several age groups participating in one of the favorite county fair events.
This year, there was a repeat performance by one of the two greasy pigs. It got away from its youthful chasers, wiggling under the fence, running across the park and hitting the deep West Fork woods, not to be seen again.
Fire Chief Randy Perkins, who was adequately greased himself, declared winners in several attempts, while the large crowd cheered either for the pig or the kids during the fast-moving event.
