Children entering kindergarten this year will be required to receive two extra vaccinations before they can start school.
Bureau for Public Health Immunization Program Director Jeff Neccuzi says children entering state approved pre-kindergarten programs are required to be vaccinated against pneumonia, hepatitis A and HIB.
But this year, the state is also requiring kindergartners to receive hepatitis B and chicken pox shots.
Neccuzi says children already in school are not required to receive a second chicken pox vaccine, but he recommends one anyway.
