Jason W. Summerfield, 34 (left) was arrested Thursday and is lodged in South Central Regional Jail, charged with receiving stolen property.
Jackson County Sheriff's deputies say they found about $150,000 worth of farming and excavating equipment on Summerfield's Ravenswood property.
State police are now looking for Jason's brother, Jay Summerfield, 42, of Roane County after more than $40,000 worth of alleged stolen property and several marijuana plants were found in his home Friday. Police estimate the value of the plants at $86,000.
Sgt. K.G. McCord said police were executing a search warrant at the home of [Jay] Summerfield on Spring Creek Road near Spencer, in search of stolen property associated with what is described as a rash of equipment thefts.
Police also seized a .45-caliber pistol and a small-caliber rifle and ammunition, according to McCord. [Jay] Summerfield had been convicted previously of felonies in Ohio and Florida, he said.
Warrants are being obtained for [Jay] Summerfield by troopers for possession of stolen property, felon in possession of a firearm and cultivation of marijuana, all are felonies.
Jay Summerfield is described as a white male, approximately five feet, 11 inches tall, 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
Recovered items were reportedly stolen from West Virginia and Ohio -some owned by Hurst Tractor & Garden Equipment in Marietta.
Pete Gould & Sons of Murraysville, Jackson County, WV has reported about $70,000 worth of equipment stolen from the lot of their business.
Jason Summerfield is reported to have been an employee of Pete Gould & Sons.
Authorities say similar equipment has turned-up in Wayne County.
