Francis (Frank) Marion Connolly, 69, of Chatham, Illinois died on July 16 2008 at Maple Ridge Care Center in Lincoln of complications after an auto accident. He was born May 18, 1939 in Creston WV son of the late Ralph C Connolly and the late Etta M Boise.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Kapp) Connolly, sons Sean Connolly and Alan Connolly, Sisters Inez Connolly (John) Mullins, Ina Connolly (James) Blatt, Catherine (Mike) Chapin, and brother Ralph Corneilius Connolly Jr.
He was preceded in death by sisters Thelma Irene Connolly, Vada Lea Connolly Kovaleski, Carolyn Rose Connolly Rogers, Grace Frances Connolly Swimme Nourie, and brothers Gary Duane Connolly, and Terrence Daniel Connolly.
He served in the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant from December 07, 1959 to December 31, 1980 and served 3 tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Knights of Columbus and Shrine. He received a GED from Columbus Ohio July 7, 1970. He was an ASE certified mechanic and enjoyed NASCAR and bluegrass music.
Prayers at 3:45 p.m. will begin Frank's visitation Friday, July 18, 2008; his family will then greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 201 S. Main St., Chatham. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's the Worker Parish, Spruce and Park streets in Chatham. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery at 10 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2008. Military Honors will be accorded.
