Delmas G. Conley, 60, of Looneyville, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 16, 2008, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He was born February 19, 1948, at Oka, Calhoun County, a son of Ella Mae Brannon Conley of Looneyville and the late Jennings B. Conley. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Terry Conley.
Delmas served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. He was a truck driver for more than 30 years.
In addition to his mother, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Jeff Hall of Bomont; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Amanda Conley of Rittman, OH; three grandchildren, Damian Hall, Caleb and Kendal Conley; brothers, Melvin, Gilbert and Paul Conley all of Looneyville; eight nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Richard Webb officiating. Burial, with military graveside rites accorded by American Legion Post 61, Clendenin, will be in the Looney Cemetery, Looneyville.
Friends may call Friday from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
