The National Night Out event originally scheduled for August 5th, will be held tonight beginning at 6 p.m. in Grantsville, starting with an emergency vehicle parade.
This event is hosted by towns across the nation to give communities the opportunity to promote police and community partnerships, crime prevention and neighborhood camaraderie.
The family focused event will offer residents the opportunity to visit booths sponsored by area organizations to promote safety and awareness on a variety of issues. Free hot dogs and pop will be given away as long as supplies last and the event will wrap up with a flashlight give-a-way for youth to promote safety awareness.
The Calhoun Pride team will perform at 6:30 on Main Street, and will provide applications for high school students to sign up for the Pride team for the 2008-2009 school year.
