Sue Pruett Hamilton, 85, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday, July 2 2008 at the Willows Nursing Facility, Parkersburg.
She was born August 9, 1922 in Shavers Mill, Virginia, a daughter of the late Earl and Minnie Davis Pruett.
Sue was a homemaker and enjoyed cross-stitching, volunteering for the Special Olympics, and especially enjoyed her children. She was a member of the Knotts Memorial United Methodist Church of Grantsville, WV.
She is survived by two sons, Lorentz Carr Hamilton III (Sandra) and Earl D. Hamilton, both of Parkersburg; two sisters, Van Davis Boling of Lubbock TX and Margaret Leffel (Peter) of Bluefield, VA; one brother, Joe Muss Pruett (Mary) of Tazewell VA; four grandchildren, J.R. Herrmann of Parkersburg, Jeremy L. Herrmann of Neptune Beach, FL, Cynthia D. Richards of Bremerton, WA, and Calvin A. Richards of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lorentz Carr Hamilton, Jr. in 2001; and three sisters, Helen Pryor, Peggy Lawson, and Billie Porterfield.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street Parkersburg. Services will conclude 3 p.m. graveside at the Bethlehem Cemetery, Grantsville, WV, with Reverend Casey Stinespring officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
