PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY CAR ON YELLOW CREEK - County Quiet Over Thanksgiving | (11/23/2001) |
NEWS UPDATE 10 A.M. - Calhoun EMS responded to a call on Yellow Creek near Route 16 at Big Springs, where a
45-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. The ambulance was dispatched at 9:17 a.m. A unit of the Grantsville VFD
and State Police, also responded. The man was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, reportedly not suffering from
critical injuries.
Sheriff Allen Parsons was summoned early Friday morning by Calhoun EMS to assist in investigating the unattended death of
Charles "Chuck" Coon, 49, who was visiting at Hur. EMS was summoned about 6 a.m. after Mr. Coon could not be aroused to
go deer hunting.
The county was quiet through the Thanksgiving holiday. The 3rd Annual Arnoldsburg Thanksgiving Dinner served over 100
people at the Arnoldsburg School, according to one of the organizers Susan Carpenter.
