Glennis E. "Buck" Kirby, 68, of Big Springs, West Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior June 18, 2008.
He was born April 23, 1940 in Ritchie County, a son of Lola E. Kirby
of Big Springs, and the late James O. Kirby.
He was a former employee of Rubber Fabricators of Grantsville, WV, he was a retired carpenter and he was a farmer throughout his life. He was a member of the Blessed Hope Baptist Church where he was a trustee.
Buck is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Margaret A. Holbert Kirby, a daughter and son-in-law, Allen and Tina Dawson of Five Forks, WV; a foster daughter, Sandra and Dean Gudex of Wisconsin; the joy of his life, his grandson, Kenny D. Dawson of Five Forks; three sisters, Mestil Richards of Parkersburg, WV, Wanda Moore of Mogadore, Ohio, and Betty and Ernest Wagoner of Big Bend, WV, and his step-father-in-law, Verlin Millican.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at Blessed Hope Baptist Church. Reverends Frank Smith and Alfred Hickman will officiate. Interment will be in Fluharty Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, and from noon to to 2 p.m. at the church Saturday.
