John McCain's campaign is now boasting that leading West Virginia Democrats are supporting his bid for president in the Mountain State.
At the head of the list is Phillip "Icky" Frye, a former candidate for governor, who says he will stump alongside McCain when he returns to the state.
Frye accused former Gov. Bob Wise of having an affair with his wife, and then ran for that office himself.
Frye is among 30 people touted by McCain as prominent Democrats and independents backing his Republican campaign.
Frye rocked the state in 2003 by alleging his wife was cheating with then-Gov. Bob Wise, who then admitted the affair.
Frye filed for governor in 2004 to "dog Wise" over the affair, but Wise chose not to run.
