Hey, kids! Stop by the Calhoun County Farmers Market at the Upper West Fork Park in Chloe on Wednesday, June 18th. While supplies last, free zucchini seeds will be given out to children who want to participate in the first annual GIANT ZUCCHINI CONTEST.
The contest will be held at the Calhoun County Farmers Market FRESHtival! on Saturday, August 30th at the Upper West Fork Park.
The FRESHtival! is an all-day festival featuring fresh, local foods, live music, lots of fun activities for kids and adults alike, and cash prizes for the winners of the GIANT ZUCCHINI CONTEST - $25 first place, $15 second place, $10 third place.
The rules are simple: Children participating MUST use seed provided at the Farmer's Market for the contest - no substitutions allowed. Grow the squash and bring it to the Park the day of the FRESHtival! to enter. That's it!
Seed supply is limited, so come down early to the Farmers' Market on Wednesday. Doors open at 8 a.m. and market closes at 1 p.m.
