This breaking news just in. Kathy has survived the first stop of her summer tour. We went to D.C. for a couple days. It was educational as well as fun. Who would've thought you could use those two words in the same sentence?

We hit Arlington, Mt. Vernon, the Capitol, and of course, the White House. Unfortunately, we had some issues with the White House. They wouldn't let some of us in because we were far more beautiful than they had anticipated. I guess they were afraid the Secret Service guys would take their services elsewhere.

The other problems were misplaced I.D.'s or your name wasn't on the guest list. It looks like the Head of the household would count his blessings and be grateful for any friendly guests. We did have the opportunity to see The Mrs. go by with her entourage. I did notice she had a smaller posse than what her "old man" usually is provided with. Why is that? She deserves equal to if not more protection. Let's face it. She is the best decision he ever made. Why would he risk that? I guess he is still partially a guy. Sometimes they don't appreciate something great until it has hit the highway. Hopefully, he'll think that over.

Me, Kathy at Mt. Vernon

My next destination is the famous Wood Festival in Calhoun County. I haven't mapped out my itinerary yet, but, will definitely crash the redneck events. These activities have prerequisites that include (1) rain -it is tradition to rain on the Wood Festival), (2) camp chairs as far as the eye can see and (3) numerous bleach jobs. Number three is very bothersome to me. Ladies, please cover those roots before attending a function. Nobody wants to guess what shade of orange is going on with your roots. Just a little something to consider.

I had some interesting email a couple of weeks ago. Someone I hadn't probably seen in twenty years wrote me an email and sent a picture. I was totally floored. I didn't realize how time just flew by until that was delivered to my inbox. Email is an amazing thing. A simple email can bring a smile to brighten a crappy day. Of course, email does have its downers. For example, a notice that you are behind on a payment. I don't care much for those emails. You will not find me smiling or that particularly brightening my day.

I finally got my hands on Buffett tickets. I am so excited. I think it will be the perfect way to put the hammer down on a stressful year. God Bless America for Ebay! How often do you have the opportunity to get a "chiller" delivered to your mailbox? I haven't been on Ebay for awhile and have begun suffering symptoms of withdrawal. But, I think the bank has a rule that you can't do any Ebay without any funds to cover a purchase. I am pretty sure that rule does apply to me as well. So, I guess I will have to continue suffering.

Junior Taylor has to have some of his dialysis accessories rearranged again. It's better to be safe than sorry. Hopefully, this time will be successful.

Have you had enough rain and storms? Our poor little road is drowning. It is on its way to Titanic's fate. However, I don't think archaeologists will come out to dig up remains. They would think rocks look the same everywhere. But, these aren't just any rocks. These are from Beason. The stones are special and rare just like the Beason family.
