LITTLE KANAWHA CRESTING ABOVE FLOOD STAGE AT GLENVILLE - Flash Flood Watch, Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm Watch

(06/04/2008)
Wednesday evening's Wood Festival Events canceled because of continuing thunderstorms and rain moving through the area.

National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing penny size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located near Sandyville or about 12 miles east of Racine and moving east at 40 mph.

The severe thunderstorm will be near Grantsville at 8:30 p.m. dumping more rain on an already rain-soaked ground with local streams filled to the brim from rain last night and today.

Doppler radar has indicated some rotation within this storm. While not immediately likely, a tornado may still develop. If a tornado is spotted act quickly and move to a place of safety in a sturdy structure such as a basement or small interior room.

The rain ends tonight with the sun coming out tomorrow.
