Molly Yoak (L) presents award to Barb Lay
The West Virginia Dietary Managers Association (WVDMA) has announced that Barbara Lay, CEO of Minnie Hamilton Health System, is the 2008 Administrator of the Year. Mrs. Lay received her award from Molly Yoak, MHHS Dietary Department Supervisor.
In the fall of 2007, at the WVDMA annual meeting, attendees were asked to nominate the administrator who they felt supported the goals and objective of the WVDMA. When asked why she had nominated her CEO Ms. Yoak shared the following.
"I came to Minnie Hamilton from a deli. I didn't know anything about working in health care. Barb has been very supportive from the beginning and I always felt like I could go talk with her when I had a problem. She's the one who encouraged me to attend the WVDMA meetings and taught me the importance of networking. I just really appreciated all that she has done for me and the Dietary Department."
Ms. Lay thanked Ms. Yoak for considering her for this honor.
