Buster S. Cook,77, of Elkview, formerly of Spencer, died Thursday, November 15, 2001,
in the Arthur B. Hodges Center, Charleston, after an extended illness.
He was born July 30, 1924, in Richwood, a son of the late William Alfred and Ava
Trout Cook. He was a retired bookkeeper for the West Virginia Department of
Highways and a graduate of Spencer High School.
Survivors include two brothers, Billy of Parkersburg and Bobby of Canton, Ohio;
five sisters, Hattie Parsons of Spencer, Madge Daugherty of Belle, Mable Heilmann
of Ripley, Betty Wade of Yawkey and Barbara Payne of Elkview.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Maynard
Cook in 1976; two brothers, Frank and Sam; one sister, Gladys Cottrell.
A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. in the John H.
Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. J. Herbert Smith and the Rev. Hallie
R. Wade Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
