| Violet Murphy, 68 of Reedy, West Virginia, passed away May 27, 2008 at her home following a brief illness.
Born in Braxton County, she was a daughter of the late George and Birdie McCumbers Goodrich. She was a former aid at Miletree Nursing Home in Spencer.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Carla Webb (Jerry) of Reedy and Karen Cain (Marshall) of Spencer; 1 son, Randall Murphy (Penny) of Reedy; 1 sister, Erma Webb of Spencer; 2 brothers, Bruce Goodrich of Walton and Carmel Goodrich of Minnora; 5 granddaughters, Amanda Cain, Stephanie Webb, Kayla Cain, Megan Tawney and Christina Murphy.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Murphy; an infant son, Douglas Lee Murphy; a brother, Bill Goodrich and a sister, Lenora Cottrell.
Stump Funeral Home of Arnoldsburg is in charge of arrangements.
