A fire of unknown origin destroys Braxton
County homestead at head of Walnut Creek
An old vacant homestead in Braxton County near the Calhoun line burned to the ground Sunday afternoon.
The Adrian Kendall house located on a high hill at the head of Walnut Creek caught on fire about 2 p.m.
Kendall died about eight years ago, but the property was maintained by his wife and family.
The Upper West Fork, Arnoldsburg and Servia Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the remote area.
No cause was learned regarding the blaze.
