| Rev. Ray Bartlett, 83, of Big Springs, West Virginia, passed away May 10, 2008 at Minnie Hamilton Health System, Grantsville, following an extended illness.
Born at Dekalb, Gilmer County, he was a son of the late Rev. Nelson H. and Daisy Garton Bartlett. He was a US Navy Veteran, was a prominent Baptist minister in Calhoun, Gilmer and surrounding counties for many years.
He was a retired teacher of Calhoun County High School and was a former Nationwide Insurance agent in Grantsville.
Surviving are his wife, Irene Fox Bartlett and a brother, Bill Bartlett of Huntington and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Starling, Eugene and Harley.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Kenneth Heiney will officiate. Interment will be in the Nobe Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon Saturday until time of services at the funeral home.
