Shirley James Siers, 81, of Charleston passed away May 6, 2008, at CAMC Hospital, Charleston.
Shirley was born in Calhoun County and was a son of the late James L. and Alice Butler Siers. He grew up in Calhoun County and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He worked for Dowell, Inc., for over 25 years and was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He had been a resident of Charleston for 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Helen Werth Siers.
Surviving are sons, Keith (Barbara) and Dolan (Cathy) and a daughter, Charlene Siers Schuller (John). Shirley's grandchildren are Jennifer Siers MacNamara (Shane), Adam Siers, Kristin Siers Kraiss (Jason), Lisa Siers, Jason Schuller (Robyn) and Beth Ann Schuller. Great-grandchildren are Brayden MacNamara, Makayla MacNamara and Caroline Fay Schuller. His two sisters are Nell Jarvis and Verba King.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1000 Sixth Street, Charleston. The Rev. Dennis Klemash will officiate.
Interment will be in the Minnora Cemetery at Minnora at 1:15 p.m. Friends may call at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home in Charleston from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Stump Funeral Home of Arnoldsburg is in charge of the arrangements.
