Calhoun has a new chairman for the Republican Executive Committee.
Grantsville resident Gaylen Duskey was elected during a meeting chaired by state Republican Chairman, Dr. Doug McKinney last night at the Calhoun courthouse.
McKinney said the party has had no working chairperson or committee serving county residents, the reason for his presence. "It has been a non-functioning committee," he said.
Four people at the meeting have been elected to the committee, Linda McCartney, Gary Buchanan, Ernie Tingler and Steve Allison.
Duskey said two of those individuals will be going to the convention, representing the county.
Duskey said a meeting will be held on June 12th at 6 p.m. in the courthouse to "fill out the committee and elect officers."
