Glenville State College has a new mascot.
Evan Aldridge has been named the Pioneer Mascot for the 2008-09 school year.
Aldridge, a Gilmer County native, is a junior at GSC.
He is a Behavioral Science major with a concentration in Criminal Justice. Aldridge says he plans on becoming a West Virginia State Trooper after graduation.
As the GSC Pioneer, Aldridge's duties will include going to all home football and basketball games and other school events.
"I am very proud to be the next GSC Pioneer. I grew up here in Gilmer County watching Pioneer football and basketball. I always thought that I would like to be the Pioneer Mascot. It should be really exciting. I can't wait to get started," said Aldridge.
